   The use of biomass such as Coconut shell, wood chips, corn cobs, and else to replace fossil energy has become more important nowadays. The briquetting process can increase the value-added of the said agricultural or industrial waste by turning the charcoal into briquette form which results in higher benefits as follows;

   As the needs of energy have increased during past 10 years, the charcoal as one of heat sources for not only home uses but also for industrial uses. For Thailand case, the consumption of charcoal briquettes is higher than 100,000 Ton per month and this trend has risen sharply. Even though, the supply-ability of local producers for local and international market is still not enough.

                  As concluded from above reasons, Thai Sumi co.,ltd as a charcoal producer and charcoal making machinery manufacturer has developed and started to supply the charcoal briquetting machinery to local and international customers.    Our charcoal extruder is specially designed to maximize the production capacity of charcoal briquette. The case and parts of the extruder are made from high-strength steel, coated with anti-rust polymer layers. The material for the shaft and pulley system is specially selected to suit the high-torque and high-pressure system.

   The cylinder and screw is designed based on the high pressure level created by high-power motor. The dimension and shape of cylinder (e.g. hexagonal, tetrahedron) can be custom-made to suit the customers’ needs. The cylinder is equipped with heating unit to control the temperature at the optimum point during the extrusion.

 

Production Capacity

  • For normal density briquette, the production rate ranges from 1,000-1,200 kg./day (@8 hours/day). For high density briquette, the production rate ranges from 700-900 kg./day (@8 hours/day)
  • For the motor drive unit, the 3 phase-10 HP motor is used with the pulley set to obtain optimum power transfer to screw and cylinder unit. As shown in above picture, the screw can be taken out for maintenance.

  In order to achieve high quality charcoal as described above, all the charcoal making system has to be taken into account. Starting from extrusion process, good extruded charcoal must have high density and stiff enough for the charring process and transportation. We are currently able to achieve that specification by our machine below;

1. Main Drive Motor Unit

Using well-known 10 HP. 3 phases Mitsubishi Motor as a default motor type to drive the screw units and build up pressure for high density product.

2. Pullet Set

Designed with 3 belts for better transfer of power from motor to screw unit. The speed ratio is designed to match with the dust type and to optimize the production capacity.

3. Screw and Extruding Cylinder Unit

Using cast iron designed to bear the shear force and wear resistance.
